Ritviz

Woke up every morning as a kid to his mother's classical riyaaz, then took all that training somewhere nobody expected — straight into electronic music. "Udd Gaye," made through a Bacardi talent contest in 2017, blew up overnight and turned him into one of India's most streamed independent artists almost by accident. Classical roots, dance-floor instincts — not many people pull that combination off.

Who Is Ritviz?

Ritviz Srivastava was born on 24 July 1996 in Darbhanga, Bihar, and grew up in Pune, Maharashtra, in a household built around music — his mother Anvita Bharti is a classical vocalist, and his father Pranay Prasoon plays tabla. He began learning Khayal from his mother at age six, then trained in the Dhrupad style under the noted vocalist Uday Bhawalkar, all while composing his own songs from around age ten or eleven.

He dropped out of college at 17 to focus fully on music, releasing his debut EP "Yuv" in 2016. His breakout came a year later, when the fusion track "Udd Gaye" won the 2017 Bacardi House Party Sessions — a talent contest run by AIB and DJ Nucleya — and its AIB-released music video turned him into one of India's most-streamed independent artists almost overnight. His second EP, "Ved," followed in 2019, built around that same blend of Hindustani classical foundations and electronic production. He's since been named to Forbes India's 30 Under 30 list and appeared on a Grazia India Cool List digital cover, and has performed at festivals including EDC Las Vegas and Sunburn.
