Allu Arjun was born on 8 April 1982 in Madras (now Chennai), into one of Telugu cinema's most prominent film families. He's the son of producer Allu Aravind, grandson of comedian Allu Ramalingaiah, and cousin of Ram Charan — his aunt Surekha is married to Chiranjeevi. He appeared as a child artist in "Vijetha" (1985) and as a dancer in "Daddy" (2001) before making his lead debut in "Gangotri" (2003). His breakthrough came a year later with Sukumar's "Arya" (2004), which won him a Nandi Special Jury Award and made him a youth icon almost overnight.
He picked up his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu for "Parugu" (2008), followed by a second for "Vedam" (2010) and a third for "Race Gurram" (2014) — his first ₹100 crore grosser. "Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo" (2020) became a career-redefining blockbuster, but it was "Pushpa: The Rise" (2021) that took him pan-India, earning him the National Film Award for Best Actor and making him the first Telugu actor to win it. He's since become a fixture on Forbes India's Celebrity 100 list, and "Pushpa 2: The Rule" (2024) became one of Indian cinema's biggest-ever box-office hits.
